When People Choose Pleasure Over Children

When you decide to have a child, you must also make a decision to take responsibility of that child and place that child above all "other plans".

Your children must always be an exception to your "Other plans".

I mostly get emotional when it comes to issues in relation to family ties. My readers must please pardon me for any emotional outburst in this piece. It is only sad, surprising and pitiful that Some parents place pleasure above children.

This issue has been in our social shelves for a while now with little talk about it but much criticism about the very abandoned children who grow up without love and become recalcitrant.

There is this cliche that says,"love me, love my dog" but this cliche seems to have died and buried due to its old age.

Over the years, I have seen parents especially mothers abandon their children in order to marry their partners who mostly ask them to choose between their children and them. Choosing pleasure over children.

I write not to judge but to show the increasing rate at which parents abandon their kids in their race for the ring. I thought they said a mother's love was unconditional but marriage, love and pleasure have set conditions of a mother's and father's love.

When you have a child, know that he or she is your responsibility and whatever decision you take must be one that wouldn't allow or make you shirk your responsibility. If he loves you, let him love and accept your child and same applies to that woman who claims to live you. Our children are our greatest inheritance.
