Ghana Will Never Perish

According to Hagel, Social progress occurs when opposing forces struggle against one another. The struggle usually forces a collision between the opposing forces that produces something better than either of the two opposing forces could have produced separately. Out of this painful clash, between what is called “thesis” and “antithesis” emerges the “synthesis”, which represents the merging of the best of the thesis and the antithesis. This process leads to the growth and progress of society.

Unfortunately, in my country Ghana, the clashes between two opposing forces especially in our political mortgage produces nothing worthy than insults and hatred. We are in a political season again and as usual, the spew of useless venom and insults has become the hallmark of some individuals. To them, anyone who isn’t on their side and disagrees with them is not worthy to breath. The last time I checked, insults and hatred had never won elections but only produces heat without fire.

To me, it doesn’t matter the color of the cat, what matters is that the mouse is caught. We have a common mouse called poverty, which needs serious arrest. Yet we end up spending so many hours arguing on who is best to arrest it than pulling our collective efforts together, towards its arrest. Always remember that the crab has nothing to lose if there is an order that all heads must be chopped off in order to maintain the supremacy of the animal kingdom.

Just take a critical look at those playing the war drums; they have nothing to lose because they can easily run away. Let all be wise and say NO to violence. NDC and NPP are not bigger than Ghana. Let’s involve our brains rather than our weapons. It is normal to disagree with others, but that doesn’t mean they are our enemies. If you get two people agreeing on all issues, it probably means that one of them is not thinking. A sincere disagreement is a sign of great progress. Ghana has worked before and can work again. Good day my fellow Ghanaians.
