The Ghana Education Service (GES) has transferred funds to Senior High and Senior High Technical Schools to cover perishables supplied between March 1 and September 4.
It has also made a part payment for recurring items for SHS 1 students for the first semester of the 2025/2026 academic year.
The development is contained in a letter signed by the Director-General of the GES, Prof. Ernest Kofi Davis, and dated September 23.
The GES has directed heads of the affected schools to submit official receipts for the funds received through their respective Regional Accountants.
“The Management of the Ghana Education Service wishes to inform all Regional Directors to notify Heads of Senior High and Senior High Technical Schools that, perishables for schools from 1st March - 4th September, 2026 and part payment of recurring items for 1st semester 2025/2026 academic year for SHS 1 students, have been transferred to the various accounts of the Senior High and Senior High Technical Schools,” the statement read in part.
“Heads of Senior High and Senior High Technical Schools are reminded to send official receipts of the funds received to the Director General through their Regional Accountants,” it added.
The GES said it counted on the cooperation of the Regional Directors and school authorities in implementing the directive.
