Hanna Tetteh, Minister of Foreign Affairs and also Member of Parliament (MP) for Awutu-Senya constituency, has failed to push for development projects including roads for the constituency since she became a lawmaker for the area, therefore, “we are going to uproot her from the constituency like a spoilt tuber of yam”, a youth group in the constituency, known as Awutu-Senya West Youth for Change, has said.
“We [constituents] have been neglected by the incumbent MP since she took leadership of the Constituency for the second time. In all, after eight years under Hon Hanna Tetteh, our bad roads remain unfixed and it might interest all to know that even the road leading to her hometown, Obrachire, is in its worst state. We have received promises upon promises and we are tired of waiting hopelessly. This is the year of change and we are going to uproot her from the Constituency like a spoilt tuber of yam,” the group threatened in a statement.
Mr Emmanuel Koomson, convener of the group, indicated: “We were very excited when the young and old chanted continuously for change when the flagbearer of the NPP [Nana Addp Dankwa Akufo-Addo] visited the constituency. They kept chanting that: ‘We need change not [a] bus’, since Hon Hanna Tetteh had promised them a bus.”
The group said: “Indeed, positive change can never be substituted for a bus or few cedi notes. We, therefore, call on the youth to resist the temptation of taking few notes of cedis, which can never erase the bad roads and incompetent leadership of [Hanna Tetteh]”.
“Those of us, who cannot resist the temptation of Hanna Tetteh's money under these harsh economic circumstances will take her money and still vote for change. How can an MP, who was listed among 10 top absentee MPs in parliament, ever seek to represent the interest of Awutu-Senya West, let alone about our development and high rate of employment among the youth?”

The time of change is here to take advantage of, it is you the people with the voice to demand a change for better, if you do not grasp the chance to demand for change now, nobody else will do it for you. Awutu-Senya your votes count, and it is only you that can make your vote count, by all means go ahead and accept the few cedis from the incompetent politicians, but make sure in the end you get the change you demanded for your constituency.
