Our solution towards reducing food wastage and hunger in West Africa was singled out as one of the 100 Best Global practices in 2014 at the Dubai International Award for Best Practices. The Dubai International Award for Best Practices plays a crucial role in the identification and dissemination of Best Practices from around the world. In the 10 cycle, 2014, the DIABP received around 315 submissions. These submissions were evaluated by the Technical Advisory committee, which singled out Food for All Ghana's initiative as a "Best Practice."
Best practices are analyzed with a view to extracting lessons that others can learn from and incorporate into their own work. Policy and legislative implications for scaling up and transferring lessons learned from best practices are brought to the attention of the international community at intergovernmental committees and the World urban forum. The DIABP and its network of international partners produces casebooks, engage and transfers of best practice knowledge and expertise, and often invite best practices to be showcased in conferences, seminars and training workshops.
This award reiterates our foundation’s quest to build food banks across West Africa to create sustainable means of nutrition for the less and vulnerable in society. We dedicate this award to all our stakeholders including Finatrade foundation, Trigmatic, Airtel Touching lives, Nestle Ghana Professionals, Ghana market women association and many others who have been donating their excess to our food bank. Join us to create a food waste free West Africa and feed the less privileged this October at the West Africa food for all conference and Guinness world record for the longest charity dinner table on UN World food day.
