James Ziekye who chaired the function, teachers, students from the University of Cape Coast and students from the participating Junior High schools.

At the end of the inter circuits contest, Ullo circuit represented by Ullo R/C JHS carried the day with 52 points, placing second was Gbare circuits represented by Gbare JHS. The third position went to Sabuli circuit then followed konzokalaa circuit, Tizza circuit, Jirapa West, Jirapa East, Sigri circuit and Hain circuit in that order.

The DCE in his address bemoaned the falling standards of education at the basic level. He attributed this to many reasons including lack of seriousness on the part of pupils, few contact hours between pupils and teachers especially in the public schools and many others. He however entreated students to take their studies serious since they were building their own future.

The president of Jirapa Area students Union UCC branch Pius Doozie in his address to the gathering mentioned how they had to task the union members to raise funds to enable them organize the program. He complained bitterly about the unwillingness of stakeholders in the district that is the Ghana Education Service and the District Assembly to support programs like this financially. He was quick to mention that despite the challenges they encountered financially, he and his union members were not deterred in anyway but still went ahead to carry out the program.

The chairman in his closing remarks, showered praises on the organizers of the program because this was the first of its kind to have hit the district from a student’s union. He also gave some words of inspirations to the students who took part in the competition and entreated them to in calculate among themselves the spirit of competition. This he said will lead them to succeed in their studies.

The two week long program came to a successful end and participants returned to their various destinations after taking their refreshment.
