We refuse to depublicize today - fathers’ day.
We choose to offer this special day the prominence and the stardom it deserves.
It’s in this regard, that I decide to put together something of commemorative value to this day. Just to offer it the dignity and respectability it deserves.
This is my special dedication of the “Fathers’ Day Special” to the fathers and potential fathers in Ghana.
Now the meat! The substance of the day!!
Responsible fatherhood
Every man can be a father, but it takes responsibility to be parent. Fatherhood is exciting, fatherhood is boring. Fatherhood is pain, fatherhood is pleasure. Fatherhood is emotional, fatherhood is sacrificing. Fatherhood teaches a man how not to feel guilty about being happy. Fatherhood teaches a man to be a better person, fatherhood is the best thing that could happen to man and I am just glad I can share my voice from the masculine perspective.
Just approximately exactly a year ago I assumed a fatherhood stature and if anyone tells you fatherhood is the greatest thing that can happen to you, they are just underestimating the experience; don’t fret I just told you so. What I love most about fatherhood is the singular opportunity given a man to be part of procreation and nurturing of new lives.
There is nothing so intriguing, thrilling and exciting than watching your offspring evolve from inception through the various stages of the growth process.
Responsible fatherhood is not just the establishment of biological paternity. Responsible fatherhood is not just providing a paycheck. Responsible fatherhood cannot be proven with a blood test. Responsible fatherhood cannot be reduced to a single dimension of fatherliness. It involves commitment and integrity. It is unconditional love. It is a demonstration of concern with the well-being of your children, and the desire to see them succeed.
Responsible fatherhood means positive involvement. And responsible fatherhood means engagement, accessibility, it means spending quality and quantity time with your children. Responsible fatherhood sends a strong signal to children that father cares about them, and it teaches children the value of commitment and responsibility.
Several research show that children who enjoy responsible fatherhood tend to do better socially, emotionally and academically than children whose fathers are removed and distant from them.
Let me ask you a question, if devoting ample time with your children sends the message that father loves them, what message do you convey when you fail to spend time with them?
There is no set out formula for father responsibility; however, responsible fathers diligently search for ways to be responsible to their children. Do the right thing! Be responsible!!
Happy Father’s Day!!
