We Have Tolerated For Long

Feature Article We Have Tolerated For Long
JUN 10, 2015 LISTEN

If a ball is thrown at a wall, it shall definitely bounce back. It's high time you hear us out. It's high time our demands are met. It's high time to feel the pain in our hearts. For almost 3years now, we can't boast of enjoying 48hrs electricity without power cuts, why? Is this the Ghana of yesterday? Is this the supposed better Ghana for tomorrow?

Business are collapsing, robbery on rampant, prostitution on the increase, school dropouts all over and students failure is on the increase. What's the cause of these bad omen befalling the Ghanaian citizenry?

The cause is none but our electricity problem. People don't get enough revenue to run their businesses not to talk of taking good care of their families and this often leads to dropouts who intend become robbers, fraudsters and ritualists judt to live a comfortable life. A school can't enjoy 48hrs electricity and students are expected to write final exams like BECE, WASSCE & the rest and you expect a student to pass without learning for exams due to " dumsor ".

We have walked, talked for you to listen to our woes but to no avail. Should we remind you that you promised to make Ghana better. Is this your definition pf a better Ghana agenda? Yes! We have seen constructions of roads but of what benefit is it if we can't afford to feed ourselves or run our businesses not to talk of buying cars? This is not the agenda Ghanaians were promised.

Listen to us and hastily fixed this electricity problems to let the lives of those this "dumsor" has killed on the 3rd of June. Are you surprised? You are made to believe the actual cause of death of about 250 Ghanaians that night was because of the rain and fire at the fuel station.

No, it's never true. The actual cause of this incident was because of dumsor. Mr. President, if the generator wasn't started, there wouldn't have been an explosion, neither would there be fire to kill these innocent, exuberant Ghanaians. Mr. President, we are fed up with promises, we have marched the major streets in the country to demonstrate against the current energy crisis, yet it keeps worsening.

Mr. President, this act is telling you and I that, incompetency runs in your administration and its high time you step up to these challenges for the innocent lives that were lost due to "DUMSOR". Thank you.
