Trouble is brewing in the Central Africa's Triangle border regions of Democratic Republic of the Congo (Zaire) Republic of South Sudan and The Central African Republic after a little known movement was formed by the Azande nationalists. In a statement issued in French, a group calling itself, Le Front De Libération Nationale Azandé (FLNA), or in English Azande National Liberation Front, said that they aim to create an independent nation for the Azande.
The statement reads: "The Central African Republic (CAR), South Sudan and Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) must recognise the independence of the national territory of the Azande. If it is not done we will bring the armed struggle against Kinshasa, Bangui and Juba." The group also said that they want the UPDF hunting Joseph Kony to leave their territory around the town of Obo in CAR calling them invaders.
They said they will ask the Seleka rebels, who wrecked havoc in CAR, to fight the Ugandans. The Azande people straddle the border areas of South Sudan, CAR and DRC. They were a thriving kingdom having conquered most the tribes in the area in 17th and 18th centuries before colonial rule divided their territory across three countries. The last King Gbudue of Azande's Royal Court and Household was located in Yambio, South Sudan.
According to an anonymous reliable source, the authorities in Yambio, Western Equatoria State could not be reached for comment and will apparently denied (ditched) the case as tribal or as a conflict of interest by few groups of the Azande.
Voice of Equatoria was unable to reached and couldn't conformed who is the leader behind the scene in Yambio, Isiro, Dungu and Obo.
