Accra, May 30, GNA - Mr George Ackerson, Managing Director of Sam-Woode Limited, has called on parents to provide their children with educational materials,   and also inculcate in them the habit of reading.

This, he said would enable them to acquire knowledge and also help them to become useful citizens in future.

Mr Ackerson made the call at the opening of the company's fair,   and the launch of the company's range of books in Accra on Friday.

The books are Primary Mathematics Books One to Six,   Natural Science Books One to Three, Citizens Education (Government selected), French Translations and Colouring Books.

Others are Elective Mathematics, Core Mathematics, Social Studies, Elementary Statistics and E-Books.

The rest are Kenkhanya Read and Learn, World Reader, Integrated Science (for all government schools), Information Communication Technology (ICT) books with compact Disc and dictionaries.

Mr Ackerson said the fair was to showcase the products of the company to Ghanaians, and   to also sensitize students on the need to read books.

He, therefore, encouraged students to read books and take their studies seriously to enable them to achieve their   aims.

Students who took part in a special spelling competition were awarded with the company's products.
