The National President of PUSAG, Benjamin Panlogo-Logodam, who made these known in Accra, noted that over 1,500 students would participate in the competition which would feature five different sporting activities.

These sporting activities, Mr. Panlogo-Logodam said, included football, basketball, volleyball, Athletics and handball in which 32 private universities across the country would be struggling for honours in the five-day event.

The National President explained that the aim of the Games was to help the nation discover talents among the students of the private universities, adding that previous editions of the Games had produced outstanding athletes who had represented the country in various fields of sporting activities. “Through the coming games, we hope to develop young athletes who could represent our country in international competitions,” he said.

Mr. Panlogo- Logodam gave the assurance that adequate security has been provided for all the athletes noting, however, that God was the greatest and ultimate security.

“The PUSAG Local Organizing committee is making efforts to ensure that the Games are hitch free. We want to assure all our stakeholders that this year's edition shall be better than the previous ones,” he said.

He disclosed that participating institutions would tour the territorial waters of Ghana with the Ghana Naval Ship from Tema on Friday, 14 March 2014.

The PUSAG Sports and Entertainment festival is an annual event that brings all students of accredited private universities together to showcase their hidden talents in them so as to promote nation-building and also to strengthen existing unity among member institutions.

This year's event is under the theme “Contributing to National Development through Sports—The Role of Private Universities in Ghana'.
