Prophet Daniel Nkansah, the Founder and Leader of the New Vision Party, has appealed to politicians to desist from heightening tensions in the country.
He has also called on them to give the government the needed space to execute policies to move the country forward.
In a congratulatory message to President John Dramani Mahama, Prophet Nkansah said after the Supreme Court judgement, political tensions, harassment and threatenings by some political stakeholders had become too many, which ought not be encouraged.
Prophet Nkansah said the eight months spent in the Supreme Court of Justice on the election petition by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) affected the governance by the presidency.
According to the statement, the litigation at the court affected the government and President Mahama, since his position as President was being challenged.
It noted that the litigation thus affected the development of the nation.
The statement said complaints from both internal and external investors brought stagnation and affected the growth of the economy.
'The Supreme Court judgement on August 29, 2013 was the re-affirmation and the re-ushering of President Mahama into office as President of Ghana,' the statement stressed.
