Mr Philip Addison, lead counsel for the NPP spurious petition that challenged the credible results of the 2012 Presidential Election, which was dismissed by the Supreme Court (SC) last week Thursday has gone into hiding.

Another NPP guy who has not been seen in public since the case was thrown out is Yaw Buaben Asamoah, a young lawyer who used pure propaganda and tomfoolery to twist facts on the petition case on radio and television during the petition hearing.

Ghanaians who were glued to their television sets saw the deflated look of Philip Addison some few minutes before the verdict was announced by the President of the panel, Justice William Atuguba. Addison who left the courtroom after the verdict in a hurry has since gone into self-imposed hiding.

Philip Addison is famously known for fighting everybody in court during the proceedings of the petition case even though he knew very well that he had a tough time to sell the NPP's tainted unmeritorious evidence. His antics and posturing exhibited in court are still fresh in the minds of Ghanaians.

There were some good NPP lawyers who were initially approached to take the petition case but had to back out when they saw that the bogus evidence presented by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his co-conspirators will not fly. Addison, who was looking to make money and name, was the only one who gleefully took the gamble and decided to give it a shot and see how it goes.

But now that everything seems to have fallen flat in his face, Addison out of anger, disappointment, shock, disillusionment, sadness and emptiness has gone into hiding. I am told there are some friends and family members who are privately saying that the gamble taken by Addison was so huge that he should not have taken the bait from Akufo-Addo in spite of the money involved.

Yaw Buaben Asamoah, who was so passionate and emphatic that the NPP was going to win the petition case has gone AWOL (Absent without leave) and we are waiting to hear his take on the verdict. Buaben Asamoah who was so happy to be seen in camera after each court sitting, and was always seen standing behind NPP's Chief Propagandist, Gloria Akuffo, as she grants interviews to throw dust into the eyes of Ghanaians especially the NPP supporters, has suddenly vanished from everybody's radar.

These are people who have beholden the NPP with sheer lies and facts twisting, therefore, majority of NPP supporters can no longer discern the truth from the garbage that these NPP commentators churn out. Just look at the different interpretations being floated by the NPP supporters on the SC verdict, and you will appreciate what I am trying to say.

Buaben Asamoah should come out of the woods. He is one of the guys that the NPP should never allow to become the face of the party. With the likes of Buaben Asamoah, apart from what they get from the party, they bring nothing new and credible to the NPP table. All what they leave behind is chaotic scenes.

Philip Addison did his 'best' even as he buried himself in a number of pink sheets which to date the NPP itself does not know the exact number of copies it submitted to the SC. Addison has no one to blame but himself since he should have known that it takes more than presenting just pink sheets to win such a high profile case.

When the history of the pink sheets is finally put in scope, Philip Addison will be remembered as perhaps one of the only known lawyers who went to court and did not call a single witness to buttress his case but largely relied on the illogical 'You And I Were Not There' statement by the discredited Dr Mahamadu Bawumia.
