A hundred per cent turnout of all 33 members of the assembly somehow managed to yield 37 ballots when voting closed at Abetifi and the ballots were counted.
Mr. Daniel Kwame Agyapong, presiding member of the assembly, told Asempa FM he was himself baffled by the outcome, as to how all 33 members present to vote could end up with 37 votes in the ballot box at the end of the process supervised by the Eastern regional office of the Electoral Commission.
Mr. Agyapong said the assembly members were meeting to unearth what might have gone wrong.
An earlier attempt last week failed to confirm President John Mahama's nominee as he could only poll 19 of the 33 votes with one ballot declared spoiled.
A nominee must poll at least two-thirds majority to be confirmed.
