Tamim leads productive sesson for Bangladesh

HARARE (AFP) - Tamim Iqbal's return from injury bolstered Bangladesh on Thursday as they went to lunch on day one of the second Test against Zimbabwe on 89 for two.

Tamim missed Bangladesh's 335-run defeat in the first Test because of a broken thumb but returned to strike an unbeaten 40 after the tourists had been asked to bat on a green Harare Sports Club pitch.

Jahurul Islam and Mohammad Ashraful were the two batsmen dismissed in the first session, with Jahurul's sliced drive being well caught by Malcolm Waller as he ran back from point and Ashraful caught at gully off the bowling of Shingirai Masakadza.

Bangladesh made four changes to the side that was bowled out for 134 and 147 in the first Test, with all-rounder Ziaur Rahman making his debut and Sajidul Islam playing his first Test in over five years.

Tamim and Mominul Haque also came into the side as Rubel Hossain, Shahriar Nafees, Mahmudullah and Enamul Haque Jr, dropped out.

Zimbabwe made one change, with Regis Chakabva brought in to open the batting after Timycen Maruma injured his knee in training earlier this week.

While Chakabva is usually Zimbabwe's first-choice wicketkeeper, Richmond Mutumbami kept the gloves because Chakabva had not fully recovered from a finger injury.
