The Ghana Independent Broadcasters Association is now firmly on a collision course with government over the alleged distribution of some laptops to the association.
The Association claims it has not received any laptops as reported in Wednesday April 10, 2013 edition of the Daily Graphic.
The report indicated that the Information Minister presented 50 laptops to GIBA in order to facilitate the administrative duties of the association.
But in a statement the association said it has not received any laptops from government and does not need them in anyway.
The Executive Director of GIBA, Gerald Ankrah told Joy News the association has serious challenges it wants government to address and not to supply them with laptops they don't need.
He lamented the delay in the passing of the Broadcasting law and other issues he said were pertinent for the Association.
“These are the issues we have with the Ministry of Information because we have not to date received anything.
“...We have not taken delivery of any number of laptops. With GIBA, I don't think laptops are our priority.
“We have other issues on the burner. So we expected that those issues will be dealt with and not laptops,” he stated.
