Press Release In The Spirit Of Nation Building. Open Letter To The Office Of The President
FEB 17, 2013 LISTEN

The Board, Executive Committees and Members of Common Purpose Alliance Ghana, CPAG, wish to express our congratulations to H.E. John Dramani Mahama on his election and investiture into the high office of President of the Republic of Ghana.

We are happy that irrespective of the ongoing electoral dispute before the Supreme Court, the leadership and people of Ghana from all sides of the political divide have continued to show maturity in this testing period and allowing the laws enshrined in 4th Republic Constitution to be applied in resolving such disputes. We are very confident that the outcome and final judgment of our Supreme Court will be accepted by all to further our understanding and practice of democratic dispensation and leadership as applied with the rule of law in Africa. We pray that God continues to bless the people of Ghana; government, political opposition and the general populace.

Common Purpose Alliance Ghana, CPAG, is a non-governmental organization, commissioning itself for the sole purpose of dealing with societal challenges confronting the good people of Ghana especially within under-privileged communities. We pride ourselves as Advocates of Social Justice, the Rule of Law, Transparent and Accountable Governance. Ghana is a relatively small country with good economic prospects adequate to better the lives of its citizens if leadership implements the right policies towards achieving this end. CPAG intends to contribute immensely in pursuit of this National Vision of creating a Better Ghana moving forward for all irrespective of social status.

We would like to take this opportunity to draw the attention of president to the spate of motor accidents on our roads which claimed over 2200 innocent lives in the year 2012. This is a crisis situation in the view of CPAG. The upsurge of motor accidents and the high levels of causalities being recorded only few weeks into 2013 are already very alarming. The good news is that we believe this situation can be brought under check and control if leadership enforce strategies which have been tried and tested elsewhere in other countries.

Furthermore, we will take this opportunity to wish the president and his newly formed cabinet the needed patriotism, honesty, selflessness and a sacrificial spirit to make the plight of the masses their reference point and mission statement. All said and done, we believe with truthfulness coupled with transparency in governance and God on our side, together we will make Ghana a better place.

God bless your PRESIDENCY
God bless GHANA.

Regards
On Behalf Of CPAG
