A former Key Accounts Manager of Multimedia Group Limited, Kwadwo Baah-Agyemang has been elected as Member of Parliament for the Asante Akim North constituency of Ashanti Region, on the ticket of the NPP.
The 37 year old marketing professional polled 14,887 in a fiercely contested election on Friday, December 7.
Daniel Osei of the NDC polled 9,678 while Mr. Samuel Kusi, the aggrieved NPP aspirant who lost the primaries and contested as an independent candidate, secured 8,615 votes. Another independent candidate Madam Mary Owusu also managed 569 votes.
Kwadwo Baah-Agyemang is Chief Executive of Sportslife Ghana and a member of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG).
Before his decision to enter into politics, Mr. Baah-Agyemang was Sales Manager for Asempa FM, one of the brands of MGL.
The Asante Akim North seat is one of the 45 newly created seats by the Electoral Commission for the elections.
