The electricity company of Ghana is under investigations for unexplained power cuts being experienced by consumers in spite of a timetable for the ongoing load shedding exercise.

The Public Utilities Regulatory Commission says the investigations have been prompted by increased complaints from across the country.

Public Relations Officer for the PURC Nana Yaa Jantuah told Joy News a team has been constituted to monitor and mitigate the impact of the ongoing load shedding which appears to have been thrown out of schedule.

Meanwhile, the current electricity load shedding exercise will not end today as promised by Deputy Energy Minister Inusah Fuseini.

There are clear indications that deadline could not be met as the power generators hinted of shortfall in supply.

President John Mahama on Tuesday night told the nation that load management exercise will end by middle of November, when he participated in the Institute of Economic Affairs' first in the series of Presidential Debates ahead of the December elections.

President Mahama however, reminded Ghanaians he will ensure a complete end to the annual ritual if voted in the December elections.
