Tribute To His Excellency President John Evans Fiifi Atta Mills.
24.07.2012 LISTEN

Our great country Ghana has really lost a gem at this crucial moment in our political dispensation. As if by coincidence, the sun refused to shine on Monday 23rd July and Tuesday 24th July, 2012 a very sad day indeed in the lives of Ghanaians.Lessons from Prof. Mills. He kept focus. HUMBLED himself when he was Vice prez. He Lost in 2000 and 2004. He lost in the first round of election, bounced back and won the second and Tain elections. It means he won before he passed on. He was insulted, humiliated by his own Fantes and Ghanaians at large but his death is uniting us.Professor John Evans Fiifi Atta Mills!!! The Man who died several times before his death! Rest in Perfect Peace. Adieu Mr. President!!!!He was called out of the classroom into politics. Nurtured him into the presidency and he learned very fast. He was wanted out and since he was not ready to bow to pressures he had to leave this earth on this particular day in the month of Ramadan. We never gave the man a chance......everyday we woke up to hear that he was dead, and he bounced back to prove his critics wrong. He was insulted by people on some radio stations, but he decided to forgive them. We have lost a president who had the concerns of his people at heart. The First Man of this Land - the Noble Man of Peace & Tranquility has passed on. He has joined His ancestors. Little did we all know that this would happen! Here it is none the less. What more can we do?! What more can we say but to wish Him well as he embarks on the journey of no return.I share with the good people of Ghana both here at home and in the Diaspora, a very deep sorrow and regret for the death of H.E Professor John Evans Attah Mills. It can not be said that the death of one man is more regrettable than another but considering the capacity of the man and the number of lives he represent, it will be modest to say that, we have lost the soul of the nation. Join me mourn not only the death of our president but also the death of all who fought to see a brighter and prosperous Ghana. No wonder the sun refused to shine today..........hmmmmm the earth was even sad.......my heart is heavy..... For once, issues about judgement debt, politics of insult, and who owns what slogan.Even though he was ill he tried what he could for his motherland. may your soul rest in peace President Mills and may God strengthen your family. President Mills is gone in glory. RIP. It's a moment of national sorrow and pain. It's time we pull ourselves together and go beyond partisanship. May his death bring peace, united and harmony among all Ghanaians. My condolence to his family, Mrs. Naadu Mills, the NDC and the entire nation. We will forever have you in our hearts, Uncle Atta.
