Church Dressing Code Book: The Bible Or Constitution?

I am confused sir; I made a mistake of reading this morning's paper before coming to church. I have to confess that I wasn't consistent with my Bible reading schedule. The front page headline of this morning's paper was more appetizing than today's scriptural passage on my schedule. It simply said, “WOMEN ARE FREE TO DRESS ANY HOW – PASTOR” So I fell for it, simple. May the Almighty one forgive me? A lay man like me, a pew man, a bench warmer, without any theological or ministerial education easily gets confused. Some day I hear the Lord God forbids this or that, then someday someone says people have aright to do the same forbidden things. They say a certain group of people in a certain convention overseas agreed that people have their rights. This confused me until I learned to separate Caesars file from Gods.

But now, the feminists have confused things. They deliberately invited our big religious men to a “Freedom of Dressing (was it undressing) Forum”. So our leaders were forced to endorse it by their presence. One was even given a chance to say something. He encouraged women to put on mini skirts and those body mapping, body revealing leggings. He said he is very liberal and doesn't mind them coming to his church in that attire. His speech was drowned by screams of applause from those half nude ladies, sometimes throwing their legs apart and apparently confusing the preachers' concentration. Standing in front of scantly dressed ladies is a bit tricky. That's the reason most preachers put on long jackets and make sure that the buttoning is done properly. The idea is to make sure that any movement in the preachers' pants should not get anybodys notice. That's the advantage of being a lay man; I am at liberty to use any words. Frankly speaking, there's something about those legs. They are not simple but special and very, very….what? The battle for the freedom of dressing is not over till the reality that a woman's body is magnetic to men is thoroughly understood.

As we are on the dressing code crossroads, the final casualty could be our churches and our men in religious costumes. They are stuck between a rock and a hard place. The best they could do was to keep away from the issue. They are right to condemn vendors, but they have a scriptural deficiency when it comes to condoning indecency. I got nothing today from the church because I was busy thinking about these things. As I wander home, the question remains unanswered. Is the church's dress code book the Bible or the Republican constitution?
