Cadres and   supporters of the  National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Saturday embarked on a health walk to mark the 5th Anniversary of the death of the former Member of Parliament (MP) for the Ledzokuku constituency at Teshie, Nii Adei-Boye Sekan.

Members of the NDC and cadres throughout the constituency, as well as others from beyond, congregated at the Ledzokuku constituency office of the NDC at Teshie, where the health walk started, to be counted among the participants.

The over 300 health walkers walked along the main Teshie-Nungua street through the Teshie Maami stretch en-route to the Teshie cemetery, where wreaths were laid on behalf of the state of Ghana, the President, Prof. John Evans Atta-Mills, founder of the NDC, ex-president Jerry John Rawlings, and the NDC cadet movement among others.

Among the top notch NDC functionaries who participated in the 5th anniversary of the death of the late Nii Adei-Boye Sekan are Nii Laryea Afotey Agbo - MP for Kpone-Katamanso Constituency and minister of state at the office of the president, Nii Nortey Dua - MP for Ledzokuku and Deputy Minister of Sports, Daniel Amartey - Municipal Chief Executive of the Ledzokuku-Krowor constituency.

As if pre-organised, residents of Teshie from all manner of lives lined up along the health walk route to catch a glimpse of the participants, with some giving fond memories of the late legislator and his good works.

Paying tribute to Adjei-Boye, the Deputy Minister of Sports said the former MP, who was a member of the cadres, who actually started the struggle to make the revolution a success, did so many things to raise the image of the NDC, for which reason he deserved to be remembered.

He hinted that it was through the instrumentally of the late MP that the site, which presently houses the biggest hospital in Teshie, which was recently constructed by the NDC government, was acquired.

The Ledzokuku MP explained that initially, when Adjei-Boye took the land, he constructed a school on it, but later informed members of the party that his main intention was to use the land to construct a hospital, which actually came into existence, courtesy President Atta Mills.

Nii Laryea Afotey Agbo, on his part, called on members and supporters of the party in the constituency to bury their differences and allow peace to prevail among them.
