Bishop Obinim faces four additional charges

The General Overseer of the International God's Way Church, Bishop Daniel Obinim has been handed additional four charges.

He is standing trial alongside two of his assistant pastors Kingsley Baah and Kofi Akweteh.

They are charged with conspiracy to cause harm, unlawful entry, causing unlawful damage to the tune of GH¢130,850, assaulting Paul Kwame Ntim, assaulting Pastor William Amoako, using offensive implement to cause harm and causing unlawful harm.

Bishop Obinim and his associate pastors pleaded not guilty to all the seven charges.

However the Prosecutor Renold Agyeman told the Court presided over by Justice Eric Kyei Bafuor that the sixth count is a first degree felony and due to that, the prosecution is seeking advice from Attorney General's Department on how best to go about the case.

Meanwhile Bishop Daniel Obinim who was whisked away by few family and church members into his car immediately after the case was adjourned, is on a GH¢50,000 bail with two sureties, the same conditions set for his co-accused.

Bishop Daniel Obinim is alleged to have invaded the studios of Hot 93.9FM and threatened to kill journalists there if they did not kill him first.

Obinim was alleged to be armed with a crowbar and with which he allegedly assaulted Kwame Nti, host of 'Nya Asem Hwe' programme, and destroyed property belonging to the radio station.

At the time of the alleged attack, the station was discussing alleged extra marital affair between Obinim and the wife of one his associate pastors.

Bishop Obinim was arrested and locked up at the Adabraka Police Station before being sent to court.
