More than 50 people were arrested and many others injured at Winneba when violence erupted during the final traditional rites of the Aboakyer festival.
According to an eyewitness, it followed an attack on the Omanhene of the Effutu Traditional Area, Neenyi Ghartey VII at his palace by a group believed to belong to a faction in the long – standing chieftaincy dispute.
