Cape Coast (Central Region) - Adisadel College bagged 181-and-half points to lift the championship trophy in the central region Zone One Schools and colleges athletic competition held at the Adisadel college sports grounds on Friday.
Ghana National College came second with 127 points; Aggrey Memorial Zion Secondary School was third with 88-and-half points while Edinaman Secondary came fourth with 67 points.
In the girls division, Mfantseman Secondary came first with 117 points. Ghana National took the second position with 104 points while Christ the King Academy came third with 89 points.
Sam E. Agwu, of Ghana National College was declared the best athlete in the boys division while Elizabeth Y. Mawusi also of the same school was the best athlete in the girls division. Sam Agwu won the high jump, discuss and shot putt while Mawusi was first in 200 metre-race, was second in the 100 metres and led her school to win the 4x100 metre relay. Prizes and certificates were presented to deserving athletes.
