A vibrant, deadly and unforgiving robbery gang of about fifteen (15) young men are on a robbery spree in the Ashanti region raising serious concerns within the Atwima Koforidua community of Kumasi, they rob maim and kill in cold blood.

The ring leader Yaw Gyamfi alias Ogooro and one Kwaku Asante who is on a Police wanted list for allegedly murdering in cold blood one Yaw Akoto on October 24th, 2009 at Atwima Koforidua have vowed to eliminate members of Buffalo Unit Police personnel of Kumasi after the recent gun battle that resulted in the Commander DSP Samuel Nyamekye Ameyaw being shot in the leg.

The group is collectively facing at least nine charges on robbery, car and bag snatching and other similar violent crimes in and around
Bokankyi, Esaase, Apatrapa etc. pending at Nkawie Circuit Court. It has come to the notice of The New Crusading GUIDE that the ring leader is desperately pulling strings within the Ghana Police Service to classify their criminals activities as being fallout from a protracted land related dispute.

The Police, in July this year, led by Rev. DSP Samuel Nyamekye Ameyaw acting on intelligence, proceeded to the area to effect arrests of the suspected robbers but the operation ended in a fierce gun battle with the robbers. On arrival in the bush which served as the training grounds for the robbers, the robbers armed with AK 47 rifles, shot guns, and locally manufactured pistols opened fire on the Police Rev. DSP Samuel Nyamekye Ameyaw sustained serious gun shot injuries. The Police returned fire and later found Kwaku Asante, a member of the robbery gang dead.

After the armed men had managed to escape, the left behind a single barrel short gun, one locally manufactured pistol, a machete, quantity of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, two spent and two live 12 bore cartridges and dry gin popularly called "Laka". Although the Police are yet confirm, it is believed that Kwaku Asante, now deceased was the same person who shot dead one Akoto at Atwima Koforidua School Park and bolted.

The gang is now furious at the Police for undertaking that venture and "have sworn to teach the buffalo Unit Personnel a bitter lesson", a source disclosed.

According to a Police report on the activities of the gang which was sighted by this paper, "the group carries the cache of arms in fertilizer sacks
