In an Era where the ordinary man was ignored by the Politicians, the Elderly in society, Religious bodies, and senior officials in both Police service and the Military in Ghana, this revolutionalised the youth and the ordinary people in the society to stand and refused this practice in the society. This enabled Rawlings to enter into the political scene and people put their faith in Him, hoping he can deliver them from the hell that the leaders in the society had placed on them.

The JUNE 4TH was a period of political and social upheaval and radical change in the history Of Ghana, during which the Ghanaian governmental structure, previously an absolute monarchy with feudal privileges for the aristocracy in both the Military and Police service and Religious bodies, underwent radical change to forms based on Enlightenment principles of accountability and justice for all citizens.

These changes were accompanied by violent turmoil which included the trial and execution of previous head of states, and senior officers in the Military and unknown excesses of people, vast bloodshed and repression during the period, and warfare involving senior officials and junior officers in the Military. Subsequent events that can be traced to the Revolution include the execution of the three judges, restorations of democracy as modern Ghana took shape.

Modern political stability in Ghana could be credited to the June 4th Revolution. Ghanaians have never enjoyed the peace they are now experiencing since independence in 1957. So I firmly believe that June 4th should be celebrated as a national holiday, because it brought the spirit of togetherness among people in Ghana in tackling the problems that that the society was experiencing.

But Rawlings and his government officials failed to live up to the expectation that the ideology of June 4th stood for!

Whilst the ordinary man stood for the cause of June 4th, and lavishing still in their poor condition, the politicians are now living in big mansions, driving the best cars, and their children having the best education in overseas institutions! I become sad when I see my fellow ordinary men who stood for June 4th and are still suffering, while the politicians who never fought in the revolution are now enjoying better life, then I would cite with people who say June 4th never lived up to expectation!!!

Former President Rawlings please educates your own party about the essence of June 4th by practicing accountability and zero corruption in discharging their duties in government.

God bless Ghana!
