Businessman and National Democratic Congress (NDC) member, Alfred Agbesi Woyome, is seeking to become one of the party’s National Vice Chairpersons as the party prepares to elect new national executives.
His nomination has officially been submitted by former Deputy National Women’s Organiser of the NDC, Dr Catherine Deynu, who believes he has the experience and commitment required to strengthen the party’s organisational structures.
A close family member has disclosed that Mr Woyome is currently outside the country but has fully endorsed the decision to put his name forward for the position.
Dr Deynu explained that his ambition was largely driven by the need to empower party members, particularly those operating at the grassroots and constituency levels.
According to her, Mr Woyome has made significant contributions to the NDC over the years and is well-positioned to help improve the party’s internal organisation and prepare it for future electoral contests.
She maintained that his leadership could provide the necessary support for constituency executives and grassroots members to build their capacity and contribute effectively to the party’s growth.
Dr Deynu also highlighted sustainable employment creation as one of the priorities associated with his vision, indicating that strengthening the economic opportunities available to party members would form part of his broader agenda.
The NDC is expected to hold its National Delegates Congress on Saturday, December 19, 2026, to elect national officers as part of efforts to reposition the party ahead of the 2028 general elections.
