The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has warned individuals seeking various national executive positions in the party to comply strictly with the November 9, 2026 deadline for submitting their nomination documents, stressing that failure to do so will lead to automatic disqualification.

The party has scheduled November 7 to 9 for the submission of nomination forms ahead of its national executive elections on December 19, 2026.

The NDC's Director of Elections and IT, Mahdi Gibril, said the filing process would be conducted in person, requiring all aspirants to submit their completed documents to the designated election committees.

He explained that submissions would be received between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm on each of the three days. Aspirants are required to present three sets of Forms A, B and C, together with their photographs and curriculum vitae.

Mr Gibril cautioned that the party would not grant extensions or entertain appeals from candidates who fail to complete the process by the stipulated closing time on Monday, November 9.

He stressed that aspirants who fail to submit their documents by 5:00 pm on the final day would forfeit their chance to contest the national executive elections.

He further clarified that completing the nomination process online alone would not qualify an aspirant to participate in the elections, insisting that all candidates must physically submit their completed and endorsed forms to the appropriate committees.

The party has scheduled November 11 and 12 for the vetting of aspirants who successfully complete the nomination process within the prescribed period.

Meanwhile, preparations are also underway for the NDC's regional executive elections, scheduled for November 14, 2026.

Mr Gibril said arrangements for the regional polls were progressing, disclosing that the Electoral Commission had supervised the printing of ballot papers, with approximately 80% of the exercise completed.

On security, he said the Ghana Police Service had been assigned responsibility for maintaining law and order throughout the elections.

He added that personal security officers attached to government officials and party members would not be allowed within the designated voting perimeter.

Consequently, Ministers of State, Members of Parliament and other party officials will be required to comply with the security arrangements, as neither private security details nor party security personnel will be permitted to operate within the voting areas.

The party is relying on the police to provide adequate security and ensure peaceful regional elections, following arrangements similar to those adopted during its constituency-level polls.

The December 19 national executive elections are expected to shape the party's leadership structure, making compliance with the nomination and vetting requirements essential for all prospective candidates.
