Kenneth Sefa Karikari, popularly known as the “Adenta Show Boy,” has secured a decisive victory in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Adentan Constituency vice-chairmanship election.
Mr Karikari polled 1,784 votes to defeat his main contender, Michael Nii Okai Dzane, who obtained 716 votes.
The result followed a closely watched contest in which both candidates sought to win the support of delegates across the constituency.
Mr Karikari's campaign was largely driven by grassroots mobilisation, with strong engagement among women and young people across key electoral areas, including Gbentanaa, Ogbojo and Adjiringanor.
His victory was met with jubilation among delegates and supporters, who lifted him shoulder-high following the declaration of the results.
The wide margin between the two candidates gave Mr Karikari a strong mandate as he joins the incoming constituency executive team.
Mr Karikari is the immediate past NDC Adentan Constituency Treasurer, having been elected to the position during the constituency's internal elections in October 2022.
Beyond his political activities, he works as Health and Safety Manager at Dredge Masters Limited, a Ghanaian marine engineering and dredging services company.
He has also co-authored environmental science research focusing on urban sanitation, GIS-aided optimisation and faecal sludge management in the Greater Accra Metropolitan Area.
