The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Builsa South, Hon. Anne Musah, has appealed for urgent investment in road infrastructure and the supply of teaching and learning materials, saying poor roads and shortages in schools are holding back the district’s development.
Poor Roads Hit Farmers
Hon. Musah explained that Builsa South is predominantly a farming community, but farmers are struggling with a poor road network.
According to her, all the roads linking communities to the district capital are in a deplorable state, making it very difficult for farmers to transport their produce to market. She mentioned the Fumbisi–Gbedembilsi road, Kadema, and other communities as areas severely affected by bad roads.
The DCE called on government to invest in agriculture in the Builsa South District to create jobs for the teeming youth and women.
Shortage of Teaching and Learning Materials
On education, the DCE stated that several schools in the district lack teaching and learning materials, a situation that negatively affects the quality of teaching and learning.
Revenue Mobilization
Hon. Musah also disclosed that the Assembly is challenged with revenue mobilization. She indicated, however, that her tenure is performing far better in revenue generation than previous administrations.
The District Chief Executive made the statement on 22nd October 2026 during the Regional Composite Budget Hearing for 2027–2030 at the Kasena Nankana Municipal Assembly Hall in Navrongo.
