As the National Democratic Congress (NDC) prepares for its constituency elections scheduled for Saturday, 24 October 2026, Central Regional Communications Officer hopeful, Nurideen Kobina Essah, has called on aspirants, delegates and party supporters to prioritise peace, fairness and unity throughout the electoral process.
In a press statement issued ahead of the polls, Essah commended aspirants and their supporters for the peaceful conduct of their campaigns so far, describing it as a demonstration of the party’s commitment to its values and democratic principles.
He urged all contestants, campaign teams and supporters to maintain the peaceful atmosphere throughout the remaining campaign period and on election day.
According to him, individual ambitions must not take precedence over the collective interests of the party, stressing that the unity, stability and public image of the NDC remain shared responsibilities.
“Our ambition to lead must never be greater than our commitment to the party,” he emphasised, calling for mutual respect and cooperation among all stakeholders.
Essah also appealed to the officials overseeing the electoral process to ensure fairness, transparency, impartiality and accountability, noting that a credible election would strengthen delegates’ confidence in the party’s internal democratic processes.
Turning his attention to delegates, he urged them to make their choices with wisdom, maturity and a clear vision for the future of the party.
He noted that the decisions delegates make would shape the leadership and direction of their respective constituencies for the next four years, urging them to prioritise competence, commitment, unity, stability and development.
The Central Regional Communications Officer hopeful further encouraged party members to compete respectfully, manage disagreements peacefully and remain united after the elections.
He expressed hope that the electoral process would be peaceful, the outcome credible, and the NDC emerge stronger and more united.
Essah concluded by wishing all aspirants well as they prepare for what he described as an important moment in the party’s democratic journey.
