A contestant for the Ashanti Regional Organiser position of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Alfa Justice, has come under public criticism over a campaign poster in which he is depicted in military-style attire while holding what appears to be a pump-action gun.
The poster, which Alfa Justice shared on his Facebook page, shows him wearing a beret and dressed in an outfit resembling a military uniform, with the firearm held in his hands.
It carries the inscription: “NDC Regional Organizer Vote Alfa Justice #6 on the ballot to Protect: Delegates. Ballot. Box, Votes for 2028”.
The image has sparked reactions on social media, with some users calling on the security agencies to take action against the NDC aspirant.
One social media user, Cyber Rule, commented: “What kind of nonsense post is this? In fact Ghana Police must act now”.
Another user, Klonobi Tawiah, simply tagged the Ghana Police Service, while Fiifi Annan Kakabaah urged Alfa Justice to remove the image, writing: “Massa pull this picture down”.
Edmund Jojoe expressed concern over the possible implications of the imagery, saying: “If we don't stop this, it will easily breed civil unrest”.
Other users also questioned the message conveyed by the poster.
Bagwell Wills reacted in Twi, writing: “Asem ooo”, while Abdulrahman Hudu also tagged the Ghana Police Service.
Zachariah Peter asked Alfa Justice: “Alfa Justice are you going to war?” David Boakye similarly questioned: “is there any war in Ghana?”
The controversy comes as candidates campaign ahead of the NDC’s internal elections, with Alfa Justice seeking to become the party’s Ashanti Regional Organiser.
