The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) has forecast possible localised rain and thunderstorms across parts of the middle, transition and northern sectors later on Monday, October 19, 2026, amid generally partly cloudy conditions in the morning.
In its 18-hour impact-based forecast issued at 0500 UTC and valid from 6 a.m., the agency said sunny conditions would become more prominent across much of the country as the day progresses.
However, it cautioned that some forested and mountainous areas could experience mist or fog in the morning, while parts of the middle, transition and northern sectors could see thunderstorms and rainfall from the afternoon into the evening.
GMet classified the likelihood of the expected weather events as low to medium risk, advising residents in the affected areas to remain alert to possible sudden downpours and thunderstorms.
The agency also warned that sea conditions would be rough, urging fishermen and other sea users to exercise caution.
On temperatures, the coastal sector is expected to record minimum and maximum temperatures of 24°C and 33°C, respectively. The forest sector will experience temperatures ranging from 23°C to 34°C, while the transition sector is expected to record between 22°C and 34°C.
The northern sector is forecast to experience temperatures between 24°C and 36°C, making it the hottest of the four sectors, according to the regional temperature outlook.

In Accra, partly cloudy weather is expected in the morning, followed by sunny intervals in the afternoon and mostly cloudy conditions in the evening. Temperatures are forecast to range from 24°C to 33°C.
Kumasi is expected to experience morning mist, with a 40 per cent probability of occurrence, followed by sunny intervals in the afternoon and thunderstorms with rain in the evening. Temperatures will range between 24°C and 33°C.
Tamale is forecast to have partly cloudy conditions in the morning and sunny periods in the afternoon, before thunderstorms and rain develop in the evening. Temperatures are expected to range from 24°C to 35°C.
Similar conditions are expected in Yendi and Bolgatanga, where evening thunderstorms are forecast. Temperatures in Bolgatanga could reach 36°C.
In Takoradi, mist is expected in the morning, followed by sunny intervals in the afternoon and mostly cloudy conditions in the evening. Temperatures are forecast to range from 25°C to 30°C.
The forecast was signed by Ms Nancy Frimpong Asare, Duty Forecaster at the Central Analysis and Forecasting Office of the Ghana Meteorological Agency.
