Former Ghana Museums and Monuments Board Executive Director Kingsley Ofosu Ntiamoah has described the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) as inconsistent and unprincipled, accusing some government officials of arrogance in responding to public concerns.

He cited Communications Minister Sam George’s responses to questions about illegal mining and the communication service tax as examples of what he considers inconsistency in the government’s conduct.

“Currently, we have one of the most inconsistent people ruling this country. They are very inconsistent,” he said on Accra-based Channel One TV’s Breakfast Daily programme on Thursday, October 15.

He criticised Sam George’s response to a journalist’s question about illegal mining, commonly known as galamsey, during a recent engagement in Kumasi.

Ofosu Ntiamoah argued that the minister’s response was inconsistent with his previous public stance on the fight against illegal mining and the protection of Ghana’s water bodies.

He also questioned Sam George’s response to concerns about the communication service tax, recalling that the minister had criticised the tax while in opposition but later said he was not the Finance Minister when questioned about it in government.

The former executive director further accused the Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa of failing to adequately address allegations surrounding GH¢16.4 million linked to him evacuation of Ghanaians from the South African genocide.

He urged the Minister to respond to the allegations rather than engage in what he described as childish diversionary tactics over the claim regarding NPP 2nd National Vice Chairman Henry Nana Boakye's attempt to retain his diplomatic passport.

“This arrogance of power should stop,” Mr Ofosu Ntiamoah said.

He stressed that government officials must be prepared to account for their actions and address public concerns, particularly when taxpayers’ money is involved.
