The Member of Parliament for Navrongo Central, Simon Aworigo has cut the sod for the construction of classroom blocks at the Technology Solution Centre Technical Institute in the Kassena-Nankana area, following efforts to secure support from Engage Now Africa and its partner, ASEA Advancing Learning Foundation.
The sod-cutting ceremony took place on Monday, October 12, 2026, in collaboration with the Country Director of Engage Now Africa, marking the beginning of a project aimed at improving teaching and learning conditions at the technical and vocational education institution.
In a statement, the MP said providing a suitable classroom environment for students at the institute had been a priority for some time, prompting engagements with Engage Now Africa and ASEA Advancing Learning Foundation to secure support for the project.
According to the MP, the organisations accepted the request, paving the way for the project to commence following the sod-cutting ceremony.
The project will be implemented in phases and will include a multi-storey classroom block, an administration block, and a modern kitchen with washroom facilities.
The first phase is expected to be completed within 10 months.
The MP expressed hope that the new facilities would improve the learning environment and contribute to better academic outcomes for students, particularly those pursuing technical and vocational education and training.
The legislator also urged students to take advantage of the investment by dedicating themselves to their studies and making effective use of the practical training and skills development opportunities the institute provides.
The MP expressed gratitude to the Country Director of Engage Now Africa and her team for their commitment and efforts towards ensuring the project's implementation.
The MP said the collaboration was expected to contribute to the transformation of the school and improve conditions for both students and staff.
As part of efforts to address the school's immediate furniture needs, the MP also presented 200 mono desks and chairs to the institute, fulfilling a request made by the school's management.
