The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has attributed a power outage affecting parts of the Ashanti Region to a fire that burnt a high-tension pole at Sokoban Ampeyoo, behind the Quality Foam Company.
In a notice issued on Saturday, October 10, 2026, ECG's Ashanti West Region listed parts of Sokoban, Ampeyoo, Asaago, Apaaso and surrounding areas among the communities affected by the disruption.
The company said its engineers were working to rectify the fault and restore electricity supply to the affected areas.
ECG apologised to customers for the inconvenience caused and said efforts were underway to resolve the problem.
