Multimedia Group presenter Andy Dosty has denied obtaining a United States visa through the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, expressing disappointment over the inclusion of his name on a list at the centre of the ongoing controversy surrounding World Cup-related visa arrangements.

Andy Dosty said he did not understand why his name had been included in the list, insisting that he neither obtained his visa through the GTA nor travelled to the United States for the World Cup.

“I didn’t get my visa through GTA or for the World Cup,” he stated.

The broadcaster also questioned the basis for associating his name with the controversy, explaining that he does not consider himself a sports person and does not understand why he has been linked to the World Cup visa arrangements.

He said the situation had caused him considerable distress because of the damage he believes the allegations have done to his reputation.

“The whole issue is paining me that my name has been damaged,” he said in an interview on Asempa Fm.

Andy Dosty further explained that he had been travelling to the United States long before the current controversy emerged. According to him, his trips to America were not dependent on World Cup-related arrangements.

“I started travelling to America ages ago, so if I want to go to America, it is not through the World Cup,” he said.

The presenter also mentioned his relationship with Nana Agyemang, popularly known as Nana B, the Chief Executive Officer of Tribe Culture Fest. He explained that Nana B is his friend and is the person he understands to have worked with the GTA on the World Cup visa arrangements.

Dosty, however, said he did not know how he became connected to the list or the discussions surrounding it.

His comments follow claims made by the Minority in Parliament concerning a list of 50 names reportedly submitted by the GTA in connection with media accreditation and visa arrangements for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Minority’s Ranking Member on the Parliamentary Select Committee on Sports, Vincent Assafuah, claimed that due diligence conducted by the United States Embassy’s Fraud Prevention Unit identified Philip Narh and Andy Dosty as the only individuals among the 50 names whose professional media credentials could be verified.

The claims have generated public discussion about the selection process, the identities of those included on the list and the management of World Cup-related opportunities.
