Newly elected NPP Second Vice Chairman Henry Nana Boakye, popularly known as Nana B, has explained why he missed the swearing-in of the party’s new national executives.
Nana B said he left the Baba Yara Sports Stadium to freshen up after spending hours on his feet during the election, but returned to find that the Electoral Commission had already completed the declaration and swearing-in.
“It was never my intention to miss the swearing-in of the national executives. I went home to freshen up before the final declaration,” he said.
“Sadly, before I realised it, the EC had already declared the results, and by the time I got there, the entire process was over.”
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen, Nana B said he did not expect the process to move so quickly.
“I was on my feet throughout the election, so after the election I wanted to go and clean up and come back. I didn’t know the process would be that fast,” he said.
He said he hurried back to the stadium after learning that the results had already been announced.
“Before I realised, they were done mentioning the winners and announcing the results. So I hurriedly got back to the stadium, then I got information that they were done with the process.”
Nana B was elected Second Vice Chairman at the NPP’s National Delegates Conference held at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Saturday, October 3, 2026.
