The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has congratulated the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on the successful election of its new national executives.
The NDC said the development should strengthen Ghana’s democratic process and promote peaceful political engagement among the country’s political actors.
In a statement signed by its General Secretary, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, on Monday, October 5, the NDC called for a collective commitment to protecting and deepening Ghana’s democratic gains.
“The NDC remains committed to the promotion of peaceful political engagement, democratic values and the collective responsibility of all political actors to protect and deepen Ghana's democratic gains,” the statement read in part.
The NDC further expressed hope that the new NPP leadership would prioritise the national interest over partisan considerations in the discharge of its responsibilities.
“It is the fervent hope of the NDC that under the tenure of this new crop of executives, there will be mutual effort to ensure that the interest of Ghana always surpasses the narrow interest of the two respective parties,” the statement added.
The ruling party said such an approach would contribute to efforts to make Ghana “great and strong” while strengthening cooperation between the country’s major political parties.
The NPP elected new national executives at its National Delegates Conference over the weekend, with former General Secretary John Boadu emerging as National Chairman.
The election forms part of the NPP’s efforts to reorganise its structures and position the party ahead of the 2028 general elections.

Why do you have to congratulate the NPP on the election of new national executives? I don't find it necessary. Some of the members are under the radar of EOCO and are involved in the looting and embezzlement of the state. Ghanaians want accountability from the NDC government. That is the reason the current government was voted for to come to power, not for any unnecessary praise.
