The Manyoro Farmer’s Secret

There are two farmers in Manyoro, the birth place of this writer. One praises his small 2-acre farm. He smiles upon seeing the crops. He sings to his maize.

He praises their growth. He blesses his farm.

The second farmer is disillusioned. “This land is cursed,” he complains.

The first farmer is glad. He reaps a bumper harvest. The second farmer reaps a poor harvest. He is sorely disappointed.

The first farmer applied the unfailing law of increase: we increase whatever we praise. “The whole of creation responds to praise and is glad.”

Many of us remain poor because we lack gratitude for what we already have. When we thank and praise God for what we have, our blessings multiply.

Here is my daily mantra: “God is great. Thank you for granting me wisdom to write. I salute the divinity in my articles. Let my articles bless those who read them.” Today, I have more than 200 articles on Modern Ghana.

The Bible is full of glowing stories of praise, blessing, and thanksgiving. Jesus had 2 small fishes and five loaves to feed a multitude. He praised and blessed the five loaves and two fishes, and they multiplied to feed 5,000. He did not complain. He applied the law of increase.

What you focus on expands. Praise is focus on the good.

Even when facing setbacks or bad circumstances, praise rather than curse. Your praise has the power to turn bad situations into favourable ones.

As Manyoro wisdom says: “The cow you praise gives more milk.” Praise a child and he will become good. Curse a child and he will become your nightmare.

Why Complaint Kills Increase
Many Ghanaians complain: “Ghana is hard, no jobs, the system is rotten, corrupt and full of stomach politicians.” You get more of what you complain about. What you curse, you lose,

Complaint is a negative prayer. Every complaint is you cursing your own blessing.

You cannot build with complaints. Build your life with praise, blessing, and thanksgiving.

Worry steals happiness. Worry is complaint about the future.

Praise Your Little – It Becomes Much

Praise your cows, they multiply. Bless your money, it increases.

Tell your children they are good, and they will become good for you. Curse them, and they will do evil.

Expressing gratitude for all you have is the best way to start your day. Thank God for 10 blessings – health, family, job, water, accommodation, friends and more.

Count your blessings and they increase.
Bless People, Not Just Things
Your wife is your “first lady.” When you praise your wife, your children multiply in honour.

When you praise your employees, your business multiplies. Praise your work, and it will give you more opportunities to grow your skills.

Og Mandino’s quote resonates: “The greatest legacy we can leave our children is happy memories”- memories made by blessing them. Cursing people leads to your own downfall.

Keep A Gratitude Journal
When you wake up every morning, write down 10 things to praise and bless. Practice this for 21 days and watch your increase manifest.

Gratitude and blessing are incredibly powerful tools for attracting abundance. When you express gratitude, you receive more to be grateful for.

Praise In Advance – Faith Increase

Bless what you want as if you already have it. Still single? Begin thanking God for a wife or husband. Do not buy a single bed; buy a double bed – you are ready for your spouse.

Bless your future house. Thank God for your enviable job.

Jesus blessed and praised God before miracles happened. Praise precedes increase, it does not follow it.

Stop complaining for 7 days. Start your day with praise and thanksgiving: “Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise” – Psalm 100:4 Whatever is praised and blessed multiplies.

And as William Law wrote: “If anyone could tell you the shortest, surest way to happiness and all perfection, he must tell you to make it a rule to yourself to thank and praise God for everything that happens to you.
