The chairmanship contest of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Atwima Kwanwoma Constituency has received a significant boost for Captain (Rtd.) Reuben Solomon Jabari, with nearly 100 delegates openly declaring their support for his candidature.
The delegates, drawn from eight polling stations within the Saviour, Adumasa and Afratia electoral areas, made the declaration during a visit to Jabari’s residence on Sunday.
The show of support brought together delegates from two centres at Saviour, four at Adumasa and two at Afratia, in an open demonstration of their confidence in the former Island City Branch Chairman.
The jubilant delegation was led by Isaac Duah, popularly known as Prof., the Electoral Coordinator for the Saviour, Adumasa and Afratia electoral areas.
Why the Delegates Chose Jabari
Speaking on behalf of the group, Isaac Duah said the delegates had taken time to assess Jabari’s vision and his interventions for party members before deciding to support him.
He pointed to Jabari’s “Fund Me Go” loan initiative, which seeks to provide financial opportunities and support to NDC members, as one of the initiatives that had influenced their decision.
He also cited Jabari’s intervention in the rehabilitation of deteriorated roads in their electoral area, saying he responded promptly when the concerns were presented to him.
According to Duah, these actions are unprecedented and have strengthened their view that Jabari pays attention to the concerns of grassroots members.
He added that the delegates were impressed by the energy and organisation of Team Jabar, prompting them to associate themselves with the campaign.
I will not let you down
Responding to the declaration, Captain (Rtd.) Solomon Jabari thanked the delegates for their confidence and assured them that he would not disappoint them.
He pledged to remain accessible to party members, assuring them that his doors would remain open to them 24/7.
Jabari further promised to prioritise the welfare of party members and ensure that those who sacrifice their time and resources for the NDC are recognised and rewarded.
He also expressed optimism about his chairmanship campaign and told the delegates that he looked forward to celebrating with them.
He appealed to them to continue supporting his candidature and to have confidence in his vision as he seeks to lead the NDC in the Atwima Kwanwoma Constituency.
