The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Youth Organiser for the Kwabre East Constituency, Nana Appiah, has called on young people across the constituency to intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2028 general elections.
Nana Appiah, popularly known as the “Youth Commander”, made the call at Wadie Adwumakase during a combined birthday celebration and thanksgiving service held in his honour.
The event also featured a free community health screening exercise and an inter-community football tournament involving youth groups from across the constituency.
Addressing journalists, Nana Appiah said the youth remained central to his agenda and highlighted employment as one of the key areas of his work since assuming office.
He disclosed that 12 young people from the constituency had so far secured formal employment through his efforts, including seven who obtained placements with large-scale mining companies and five who secured positions in corporate organisations.
He also announced plans to support the provision of mechanised boreholes in public schools and underserved communities across Kwabre East as part of a community water initiative.
“Clean water is a basic necessity, and our communities must not struggle to access it. We are building an inclusive movement that embraces all young people, regardless of political affiliation, including NDC sympathizers, because our ultimate mission is to eradicate youth unemployment once the NPP returns to power,” Nana Appiah stated.
The constituency youth organiser further expressed his support for the broader vision of NPP flagbearer Dr Mahamudu Bawumia on youth development.
“Our flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has made youth development his foremost commitment, and we are working in lockstep with that vision. From our regional chairman, Odeneho Kwaku Appiah (Chairman COKA), down to our constituency leadership under Chairman Frederick Agyeman and our MP, Hon. Onyina- Acheampong Akwasi Gyamfi, our ground machinery is intact,” he said.
Nana Appiah also used a football analogy to describe the organisational approach he said the party was adopting ahead of the next general election.
“We are not organizing like a struggling Manchester United side. We are building a cohesive, disciplined, and formidable Barcelona team, solid in structure and focused entirely on winning.”
He urged NPP supporters and floating voters in Kwabre East to remain engaged in grassroots activities and participate actively in community-level mobilisation ahead of the 2028 elections.
He also said his youth-focused initiatives would continue to target areas including employment, access to water and community development.
