The aspiring constituency deputy communications officer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Agotime-Ziope Constituency, Mr. D.R Kovor, has made a passionate appeal to all aspirants, delegates, and party supporters to anchor their campaigns in peace, unity, and mutual respect.
He stressed that internal party contests are friendly family exercises designed to choose leaders, and should never be characterized by toxic rhetoric, character assassination, or divisive tendencies that could weaken the party's grassroots ahead of the crucial 2028 general elections.
Speaking on his campaign ethos, Mr. Kovor emphasized that post-election cohesion remains the single most critical asset the NDC requires to sustain its dominance in the constituency and help drive the national agenda.
"Our collective focus as NDC members must always be the strength and victory of the umbrella family. We must wage clean, issue-based, and respectful campaigns. After these internal elections, we will need every single hand on deck. Let us not burn bridges or create animosity among ourselves because our ultimate mission in 2028 is far bigger than individual ambitions." He said.
Explaining his motivation for seeking the deputy communications officer portfolio, Mr. Kovor revealed that his ambition is anchored on modernizing the constituency’s publicity machinery, training branch communicators, and aggressively defending the party’s developmental track record across Agotime-Ziope.
He noted that in the era of digital communication and fast-paced political discourse, the Agotime-Ziope NDC communication bureau must move beyond reactive statements to proactive agenda-setting.
He revealed that his key vision pillars were going to be anchored on, decentralizing grassroots messaging by equipping branch communication officers across all electoral areas with timely facts, data, and communication logistics to counter opposition propaganda at the community level.
Other visions , he said, include aggressive digital & social media outreach by expanding the party’s footprint across social media platforms to actively engage the youth. Highlighting local achievements by vigorously articulating the transformative track record of the NDC and its Member of Parliament in driving education, rural infrastructure, water projects, and youth opportunities across the area.
Mr. Kovor said his decision to contest the position followed deep self-reflection and a firm conviction that the party required renewed energy and a modern approach to grassroots communication.
He promised to promote strategic messaging, digital communication and stronger engagement with party members across the constituency.
According to him, his vision is to build a more visible, responsive, pragmatic, inclusive, research-driven, timely and digitally empowered communications apparatus capable of connecting effectively with party members at the grassroots.
Mr. Kovor said his previous experience in the branch communications office, together with his involvement in communication campaigns across various enterprises, had given him valuable practical experience for the task ahead.
He added that he had not only listened to the concerns of party members but had also taken time to reflect on their struggles and aspirations.
As part of his campaign, Mr. Kovor announced plans to embark on a constituency-wide tour to meet party members, engage them in meaningful conversations and, in his words, inspire hope among them.
