Contractors have moved to site to begin construction of a 120-bed Specialised Trauma and Emergency Hospital at Bole in the Savannah Region.

The project will provide specialised emergency and trauma care to residents of the region and surrounding communities when completed.

Minister of State in charge of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, announced the development in a social media post on Thursday, October 1.

According to him, the hospital will be built on a 16,000-square-metre site and will be equipped to provide a range of specialised emergency and trauma services.

“Contractors have moved to site to begin construction of this 120-bed Specialised Trauma and Emergency Hospital at Bole in the Savannah Region,” Kwakye Ofosu said.

The facility will include a 24-hour Accident and Emergency Unit, trauma resuscitation bays and emergency operating theatres.

It will also have an Intensive Care Unit (ICU), a High Dependency Unit (HDU) and specialised trauma wards.

The hospital will further feature a burns treatment unit, orthopaedic and surgical units, as well as imaging and diagnostic facilities.
