The Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George, has called for stronger collaboration, sustained investment and practical research-driven solutions to strengthen Ghana's cybersecurity ecosystem.

He made the call on Wednesday, when a delegation from Academic City University presented a cybersecurity white paper to him following a stakeholder roundtable held during last year's National Cybersecurity Awareness Month.

The white paper merges perspectives from academia, industry and the Cyber Security Authority, and outlines recommendations aimed at strengthening Ghana's cybersecurity ecosystem. The recommendations focus on building national cybersecurity capacity and talent, developing local cybersecurity solutions and ensuring measurable implementation of policies.

Receiving the document, Mr George welcomed the initiative and reaffirmed the important role of academia in shaping the country's cybersecurity future.

The Minister also noted the importance of sustained investment in cybersecurity and provided updates on ongoing efforts to strengthen Ghana's legislative framework in the sector.

The delegation, comprising representatives from Academic City, the Institute of ICT Professionals Ghana (IIPGH) and the Cyber Security Authority, stated the need for closer collaboration among academia, industry and government to harness local expertise and address emerging cybersecurity challenges.

The Ministry is expected to study the recommendations contained in the white paper and explore areas of collaboration as Ghana continues its efforts to build a resilient, secure and trusted digital ecosystem.
