Three young men from the Atwima Mponua District have secured full scholarships to pursue master's degree programmes at Konya Food and Agriculture University in Türkiye.
The beneficiaries are Anning Vincent, Douglas Gyebi and Mohammed Karim.
Announcing the development on Tuesday, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Atwima Mponua, Mr Issahak Ibrahim, said Ghana's Ambassador to Türkiye, H.E. Sheikh Abdul Nasir-Deen, a native of the district, secured the scholarship opportunity through intervention and collaboration.
According to the DCE, the collaboration had secured five scholarship slots for promising young people from the district.
He said two beneficiaries had already secured their visas and travelled to Türkiye on Saturday, September 26, 2026, while the third would travel in February 2027.
Mr Ibrahim said the initiative formed part of his efforts to seek opportunities and establish partnerships that would create avenues for the youth of the district to advance their education and improve their prospects.
"This is exactly why I continue to cast my net as widely as possible, seeking opportunities and partnerships that can positively transform the lives of the people I proudly serve," he stated.
The DCE congratulated the beneficiaries on their achievement and urged them to remain disciplined, focused and committed to academic excellence.
He was hopeful their success would inspire other young people in the district to pursue academic and professional opportunities and contribute to their communities.
"The beneficiary students expressed their profound gratitude to the DCE and the Turkish Ambassador for their exceptional collaborative efforts in securing this great opportunity to further their educational aspirations.
They also assured them of their commitment to study diligently and utilise the opportunity effectively to pave the way for others."
