UNIMAC-TEIN Presidential Election: Member petitions regional executives over alleged withheld results

A member of the University of Media, Arts and Communication (UNIMAC) chapter of the Tertiary Education Institutions Network (TEIN) has called on the network's regional leadership to intervene over the alleged withholding of results from the chapter's recent presidential election.

In a petition dated September 29, 2026, Stephen Kenneth Nakujah, who describes himself as a concerned member of UNIMAC-TEIN, urged the Regional Commander and regional executives to act urgently to resolve the matter.

Results Allegedly Withheld for "Mischievous Reasons"

Mr Nakujah said he had received information that the results of the just-ended UNIMAC-TEIN presidential election were being withheld for what he called "mischievous reasons."

He said that, if the information proved true, the move should not be entertained, and he called for the will of the delegates to be respected.

"The verdict of the students as expressed through the ballot box is sacrosanct, and any attempt to use other means to overturn it is totally unacceptable," he stated.

Warning Against "Technicalities" Outside the L.I.

The petitioner said he was closely monitoring developments around the election. He cautioned against the use of what he described as "mischievous technicalities" not backed by the Legislative Instrument (L.I.) that governed the polls.

Call for Urgent Intervention

Mr Nakujah appealed directly to the network's regional leadership to step in before the situation escalates.

"We hereby petition the Regional Commander and his Executives to urgently intervene and help fix this problem before UNIMAC-TEIN is plunged into apathy in the coming days," the petition read.

He also stressed the need to safeguard the integrity of the electoral process, saying, "The sanctity of our democracy must be protected."
