Four people have died and another has been injured in a road crash involving a Toyota Voxy and a MAN Diesel trailer at Anyinasin Junction on the Accra-Kumasi Highway.
The crash occurred in the early hours of Monday, September 28, with the Bunso Fire Station receiving the distress call at 5:21am.
A seven-member team arrived at the scene at 5:35am and rescued the trapped victims from the wreckage.
“Firefighters extricated trapped victims, secured the scene and helped maintain the free flow of traffic," read part of an incident report filed by the GNFS Eastern Regional Public Relations Office on the same day.
The Toyota Voxy, with registration number GR 9430-26, was completely damaged in the crash, while the MAN Diesel trailer, registered GS 4064-26, sustained damage to its front compartment.
One male victim was rescued and conveyed to the Kibi Government Hospital for medical attention.
The four deceased comprised three males and one female.
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) said the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
“The cause of the crash is under investigation, and the scene was handed over to the Police," the statement added.
