Seeing Is Believing: Why Has NAIMOS Still Not Visited the P. E. Thompson Family's 14-Square-Mile Freehold Rainforest Property in the Atewa Range?

Ghanafuor, the Ghanaian Pidgin English phrase "seeing is believing" is apt for me as I peruse and watch social media posts in which their spokesperson bangs on about their deployment to the Eastern Region, with our notorious mercenary party-affiliated hacks in tow, lol.

Yet, even as we speak, NAIMOS has still failed to visit my extended family's 14-square-mile freehold property in the Akyem Juaso section of the biodiversity-rich Atewa Range.

My late Grandpapa, Paul Ebenezar Thompson Esq., acquired the property in two parcels during the British colonial era, in 1921 and 1926. The parcels were subsequently consolidated into one. Certified copies of the indentures are a public record at the Christiansborg Deeds Registry. Across the property are abandoned, mined-out pits and a cornucopia of tree stumps.

To me, it is a veritable crime scene, with stark evidence of grave environmental destruction in plain sight that cannot possibly be hidden.

That begs the question: why, then, has NAIMOS not targeted and raided this critical watershed, which forms part of an area of old-growth rainforest designated a Globally Significant Biodiversity Area? The watershed adjoins the Atewa Forest Reserve between Boundary Pillars 90 to 98, and 99.6 acres of it lie inside the Reserve itself. It is bordered by the poisoned streams of Apotosu, Akusoo, Cheboa and Bordweser. Eiiiii, Ghana. Hmmm, 3y3asem oooo...

Ghanafuor, in light of all this, and for the avoidance of doubt, I say this to assist NAIMOS: as a law-abiding 74-year-old fogey, lol, I allege that my cousins, Kwame Thompson and Kofi Bampoe, and their associates bear full responsibility for the destruction of large parts of our extended family clan's 14-square-mile freehold property in the Akyem Juaso upland evergreen rainforest. I call for them to be investigated over alleged collusion with galamseyers and illegal chainsaw lumber producers over nearly three decades. Anyone against whom credible evidence is found should face prosecution, in accordance with due process. Enough is enough!
